Project Overview
WisDOT is proposing to resurface WIS 11 from Church Street to Cobb Road, in Walworth County. The purpose of this project is to provide long-term improvements to the pavement, operation, and safety of the roadway through:
- Mill and resurface approximately 1.4 miles of the roadway, including pavement repairs.
- Replace traffic signals at Walworth Street and Wisconsin Street and Wisconsin Street and Court Street intersections.
- Improve storm sewer inlets along the corridor
- Upgrade pedestrian curb ramps to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards
- Replace the existing asphalt sidewalk path from E 1st Avenue to Elkhorn Area Middle School
- Update guardrail near US 12 overpass
Traffic & Real Estate Impacts
Traffic control for the project is still being evaluated. Flagging may be utilized to keep the road open at all times. Minor real estate impacts are anticipated for curb ramp updates.
Schedule
Construction is currently scheduled for 2030, but could occur as early as 2028 if funding becomes available.
