Pedestrian safety for children

What is a pedestrian?Pedestrians in crosswalk

A pedestrian is anyone on foot and any person in a wheelchair. For example, if you walk or use a wheelchair to get to school, you are a pedestrian.

Before you walk, know the safety rules

Children are at a greater risk of injury than others on the roads. Their smaller stature makes them harder for motorists to see and they may have a difficult time judging the speed of approaching cars. Adults should take special care to teach children how to behave safely when around vehicle traffic.
