Location
Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to resurface approximately 4.9 miles of WIS 83 from Vettelson Road to th Oconomowoc River, in Waukesha County. The purpose of this project is to provide long- term improvements to the pavement, operation, and safety of the roadway. Other proposed improvements include:
- Reconstructing existing curb ramps to make them compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Replacing traffic signals at 4 intersections along WIS 83 at Campus Drive, WIS 16 westbound, WIS 16 eastbound, and Village Square Drive/W Capitol Drive.
- Reconstructing the intersection of WIS 83 and Pine Meadows Lane to increase safety.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 83 will remain open during construction. Outside lanes will be closed during curb ramp construction. Flagging operations are anticipated. The intersection of WIS 83 and Pine Meadows Lane will be closed to through traffic during reconstruction. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained.
Schedule
Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2029.
