WIS 59 Resurfacing (WIS 67 to County X) - Waukesha County

Project Overview

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to resurface and make various improvements to approximately 12.6 miles of WIS 59 (Genesee Road), between County X (Saylesville Road) and WIS 67, in Waukesha County. These improvements are needed to extend the service life of the pavement.

Proposed Improvements

  • Mill and overlay (resurface) WIS 59 within project limits
  • Replace traffic signal at County E in the village of North Prairie
  • Extend right turn lanes at Eagle Drive, Oak Ridge Drive, Piper Road, and Corby Drive
  • Replace railroad crossing surface and upgrade warning devices at the crossing west of North Prairie
  • Resurface bridge structures over Genesee Creek
  • Resurface bridge structure over Saylesville Creek
  • Upgrade curb ramps in the villages of Eagle and North Prairie
  • Replace sections of guardrail
  • Add rumble strips along the centerline and shoulders along WIS 59
  • New pavement markings

Traffic Impacts

Through traffic on WIS 59 will be detoured during construction. The posted detour will utilize WIS 67 and US 18.

Access to local businesses and residents will be maintained.

Schedule
