Project Overview:

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing a highway rehabilitation and improvement project along approximately 4.09 miles of WIS 59 (Greenfield Avenue) between Brookfield Road and 124th Street, in Waukesha County.

Proposed Improvements:

This project will address the deteriorating pavement conditions and decreased ride quality along this segment of WIS 59 (Greenfield Avenue). This project will also address the aging and outdated signal equipment, guardrail, curb ramps, and drainage systems. Improvements include:

  • Resurface WIS 59 between Brookfield Road and 124th Street.
  • Concrete pavement repair as needed
  • Update traffic signal at the intersection of Brookfield Road
  • Various drainage structure repairs within project limits
  • Replace guardrail within project limits
  • Reconstruct islands in all four quadrants of the WIS 59 and Moorland Road intersection to improve right turns
  • Update pavements marking and signing

Traffic Impacts:

Work on this project is scheduled to be done in stages with one lane of traffic remaining open in each direction during construction. There may be short-term closures at various intersections. Temporary accommodations for pedestrians will be made as needed.

Schedule:

This project is in the design phase. Construction is tentatively scheduled for 2028. If you have any comments or questions about this project, please contact the representatives listed below.
