Overview
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is proposing to make improvements to approximately 2 miles of US 45 & WIS 24 in Milwaukee County. The purpose of this project is to maintain the pavement in good condition as well as to improve multimodal accommodations, address substandard curb ramps, and maintain existing structures. Proposed improvements include:
- Resurface US 45 & WIS 24 with base patching as needed
- Existing non-compliant curb ramp & bicycle accommodation improvements
- Maintenance activities at structure over Whitnall Park Creek
- All existing signing & pavement marking will be updated
Traffic Impacts
US 45 & WIS 24 will remain open (with lane closures) to traffic in both directions with access maintained during construction.
Schedule
The project is currently in design. Construction is anticipated to start as early as 2029.
