Overview:
This proposed WisDOT project will make improvements to approximately six (6) miles of I-43 between US 12 and Bowers Road in Walworth County to improve ride quality and extend the pavement life in the corridor. This project will also make improvements to multiple rest stops along the I-43 Rock Freeway.
I-43 Proposed Improvements:
- Replace the pavement along I-43 between US 12 and Bowers Road
- Repairs to multiple bridge structures
- Guardrail replacement
- Culvert pipe repair and replacement
- New pavement marking and signing
Proposed Improvements to Rest Stops #35 and #36:
- Resurface the parking lots
- Sidewalk replacement
- New curb ramps
- Lighting upgrades
Traffic Impacts:
Traffic impacts are still being determined. WisDOT will work to minimize impacts to the traveling public.

Schedule:
