The existing pavement is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, WisDOT is proposing to:
- Remove two inches of the existing pavement and placing two inches of new pavement over the roadway
- Adjust and/or replace guardrail sections
- Upgrade sidewalk curb ramps to meet Americans With Disabilities Act standards
- Repair or replace culverts
- Place new pavement markings
During construction, WIS 70 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter single-lane closures controlled by flagging, along with shoulder closures.
Construction currently is scheduled 2032, but work could occur as early as 2029 if funds become available.
