TraCS (Traffic and Criminal Software), is an application originally developed by the State of Iowa in partnership with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), that serves as the national model for the development of automated reporting systems for law enforcement.

TraCS is a widely-used, modular software capable of sharing common data among forms and provides the capability of incorporating crash, citation, OWI, commercial motor vehicle inspection and incident forms. Wisconsin's version of TraCS is Badger TraCS.

The application can be enhanced by incorporating technologies such as bar code scanners and readers, digital cameras and Global Positioning Systems (GPS).

If your state or agency is interested in more information about the use of TraCS, please visit the national model.
