US 14 and Walmart Road intersection, Viroqua - Vernon County
Project overview
The purpose of the project is to improve the US 14 and Walmart intersection safety. The project is needed due
to the unsafe conditions at the intersection of US 14 and the Walmart driveway.
Proposed improvements include:
- Change left-turn lanes to offset left-turn lanes
- Install traffic signals
- Provide a connection to a future City of Viroqua roadway
- Replace existing curb ramps at two intersection quadrants
- Construct new curb ramps at two intersection quadrants
Schedule
- September 2025 - Public input
- 2027 - Construction anticipated
Traffic impacts/detours
US 14 will remain open to traffic under flagging operations with single lane closures and shoulder closures.
