Project location
US 12 (County CM to Sime Avenue), Tomah - Monroe County
Project overview
The purpose of this project is to improve corridor safety. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) completed a Highway Safety Improvement Program application and received funds to address the current crashes along the corridor. The project will convert the existing four-lane typical section to a three-lane section (a travel lane in each direction and a two-way left-turn lane [TWLTL]) through pavement marking modifications. The US 12 and WIS 131 intersection will remove the negative offset that is present in the left-turn lanes, improving intersection sight distance. The TWLTL will be extended to accommodate access to the eastern driveway for Molter’s Fresh Market.
