I-39 northbound (WIS 78 to US 51), Portage - Columbia County
Project overview
The purpose and need of this project is to address the deteriorating concrete pavement along I-39 northbound and improve the longevity of the roadway. The proposed project will patch the deteriorating concrete pavement on I-39 northbound between WIS 78 to US 51. Other project work includes:
- Milling and overlaying the shoulders on I-39 northbound at spot locations
- New pavement markings at patch locations
- Existing guardrail will be evaluated and updated to meet current standards
Schedule
- 2030 - Construction anticipated
Traffic impacts/detours
I-39 northbound will remain open with single lane closures.
