County O bridge over I-39, Portage - Columbia County
Project overview
The purpose and need of this project is to maintain connectivity along this section of County O. The need for this project is to address the deteriorating bridge deck on County O over I-39.
The proposed project improvements include:
- Removal and replacement of the bridge deck along County O over I-39
- Installation of barrier wall at the west pier of County O bridge over I-39 will be included to replicate the east pier
- County O roadway approaches will be updated to match the new bridge deck
- Guardrail will be replaced at the 4 corners of the bridge along County O and along the barrier wall at the west pier
- New pavement marking along County O

Traffic impacts/detours
County O will be closed and detoured utilizing WIS 16.
Single lane closures along I-39 are anticipated, utilizing traffic shifts onto the shoulders.
