Location
The 5.2-mile project on WIS 70 begins at WIS 27 South in the town of Winter and extends east to County W in the village of Winter, all in Sawyer County.
Overview
The pavement and structures on this segment are showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department is proposing:
- Milling of 4.5 inches of the existing pavement
- Pulverizing another 8 inches of pavement and mixing it with an emulsion
- Paving 4.5 inches of new pavement
- Replacing existing culvert pipes
- Replacing curb
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2028.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 70 will be closed to through traffic.
- Access will be maintained to homes and businesses in the work zone.
Public Involvement
WisDOT is holding a public involvement meeting to share details about the proposed project and obtain public input.
