Location
The project limits on the bridge carrying WIS 65 over WIS 35 extend from the WIS 65/WIS 35 interchange ramp terminals on each end of the structure in the St. Croix County city of River Falls.
Overview
Built in 1992, the bridge is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing:
- Replacing the expansion joints on each end of the bridge deck
- Wrapping the pier caps with fiber
- Cleaning and painting steel girder ends at each abutment
- Completing spot cleaning and painting of girders throughout the remainder of the structure
- Sealing the bridge deck
- Replacing the concrete approach slabs on each end of the structure
- Milling and overlaying the asphalt pavement between the ramp terminals and approach slabs on WIS 65
- Replacing guardrail on WIS 65 and WIS 35
- Installing pavement markings

Construction currently is scheduled for 2030.
Traffic Impacts
During construction, WIS 65 and WIS 35 will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter lane closures and lane shifts.
