Location
This project on WIS 25 runs County D in the town of Tainter north to WIS 170 in the village of Wheeler, all in Dunn County.
Overview
The existing pavement on WIS 25 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to:
- Remove 4 inches of existing pavement and pave 4 inches of new asphalt pavement
- Widen paved shoulders to five feet and install shoulder rumble strips from County D to 250 feet south of Hill Road
- Three feet of the existing shoulders currently is paved.
- Place gravel along the shoulders
- Replace guardrail
- Clean ditches
- Clean or replace culverts and replace culvert end walls
- Replace pavement markings
Schedule
Construction currently is scheduled for 2030.
- Construction could occur as early as 2028 if funding becomes available.
Traffic Impacts
WIS 25 will be constructed in two phases:
- During culvert replacement work, WIS 25 will be closed to through traffic.
- Through traffic will be detoured via US 12, WIS 79 and WIS 70.
- Access will be maintained to homes and businesses in the work zone.
- Remaining work will be completed using lane closures controlled by flagging and shoulder closures.
