The proposed project includes structures in the following counties:

  • Ashland County:
    • WIS 13/77: Bridge over the Fox Valley & Lake Superior Railroad south of Mellen
  • Barron County:
    • US 8: Bridge over the Red Cedar River between Barron and Cameron
    • US 8: Bridge over Wisconsin Northern Railroad tracks south of Cameron
  • Chippewa County:
    • WIS 27: Bridge over Paint Creek south of Cadott
  • Clark County:
    • WIS 73: Bridge over Tomas Creek southeast of Neillsville west of Badger Avenue
    • WIS 73: Bridge over Tomas Creek southeast of Neillsville south of Badger Avenue
  • Douglas County:
    • US 2: Bridge over the Bois Brule River west of WIS 27 in Brule
    • US 2: Bridge over Susquehanna Avenue in Superior
  • Dunn County:
    • US 12/WIS 25: Bridge over Red Cedar River in Menomonie
  • Eau Claire County:
    • US 12/WIS 27: Bridge over Bridge Creek east of Augusta
  • Jackson County:
    • WIS 108: Bridge over the Black River south of Melrose
  • Pierce County:
    • US 10: Bridge over the Trimbelle River west of Ellsworth
  • Rusk County:
    • WIS 73: Bridge over the south fork of Main Creek south of Ingram
  • St. Croix County:
    • US 12: Bridge over Union Pacific railroad tracks east of Woodville
  • Sawyer County:
    • WIS 27: Bridge over the Namekagon River south of Hayward
  • Taylor County:
    • WIS 64: Bridge over the Big Rib River east of Medford

Overview

To extend the service lives of the structures, WisDOT is proposing to:

  • Seal the decks on the bridges
  • Place new pavement markings

Schedule

Construction currently is scheduled for 2030.

Traffic Impacts

The highways will remain open to traffic, but motorists will encounter:

  • Single-lane closures controlled by flagging operations on two-lane bridges
  • Single-lane closures on multilane bridges
