Location
WIS 22, WIS 21 to the Portage/Waupaca County line, Waushara and Portage Counties
Project Overview
The proposed project is to mill the existing distressed pavement and overlay new asphalt pavement on WIS 22. From the beginning of the project to the southern limits of the village of Wild Rose, the project proposes milling 4 inches of existing asphalt pavement and overlaying 4 inches of new HMA surface. From the northern limits of the village of Wild Rose to the end of the project limits, the project proposes milling 4 inches of existing asphalt pavement and overlaying 4.5 inches of new HMA surface. The proposed project would have a grade raise of 0.5 inches north of Wild Rose to the end of project. The mill and overlay would exclude the village of Wild Rose.
Traffic Impacts
Some of the work can be performed while traffic is maintained on WIS 22. The construction zone will require temporary lane closures with flaggers and/or shoulder closures on each end of the work zone. At the end of the workday the roadway will be opened to traffic. A detour will be in place during the replacement of one large pipe near the fish hatchery with a cast in place concrete box culvert. This is anticipated to last 3 to 5 weeks and then will be reopened to traffic. Holiday restrictions will be enforced for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Wild Rose Days.
Real Estate
Isolated impacts. Limited to right of way being acquired the Wisconsin Department of Resources Wild Rose fish hatchery.
