Work planned on structures west of Eleva and west of Osseo

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public input on the proposed rehabilitation of bridges carrying US 10 over the Buffalo River west of Osseo and Lindsay Creek west of Eleva, all in Trempealeau County.

To extend the service lives of both bridges, WisDOT is proposing the following at:

Buffalo River Bridge:
- Replacing the existing bridge deck.
- Making concrete surface repairs.
- Painting girder ends.
- Adding concrete approach slabs.
- Replacing guardrail.

Lindsay Creek Bridge:
- Overlaying the bridge deck with concrete.
- Making concrete surface repairs.
- Adding stainless steel flashing along the edge of the deck.
- Cleaning and painting bearings.
- Painting girder ends.
- Adding concrete approach slabs.
- Replacing guardrail.
During construction, US 10 will:
- Remain open to a single lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals at the Buffalo River.
- Be closed to through traffic at Lindsay Creek, with traffic detoured via WIS 37, I-94, WIS 93 and US 10.
Construction on both structures currently is scheduled for 2028.
