The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to share details about improvements proposed for US 63 at Twenty Mile Creek in the Bayfield County town of Grand View.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposed improvements, review exhibits and ask questions of project staff.
-
When: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30
- A brief project overview is planned for 5 p.m.
-
Where: Grand View Town Hall, 22010 Grand View Blvd.
The existing culvert carrying Twenty Mile Creek under US 63 is reaching the end of its service life. WisDOT is proposing to:
- Remove the culvert carrying Twenty Mile Creek under US 63 and replace it with a single-span bridge.
- Remove a downstream culvert and construct an open channel.
- Relocate the recreational trail onto the new bridge.
- Reconstruct the roadway approaches on both sides of the new structure.
- Replace guardrail and pavement markings.
During construction, US 63 will be closed, with traffic detoured via WIS 27 and US 2. Local, business and emergency access will be maintained in the work zone, but any access points near the bridge will have limitations.
Hard-of-hearing, deaf, deaf-blind or those with a speech disability needing accommodations should contact the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay Service via 711 at least three days before the meeting.
Those who can’t attend the meeting can view materials on the project
website. Comments on the proposed project are being accepted through Nov. 13 by:
