Proposed work includes replacing utilities, curb, gutter, sidewalk and road pavement

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is holding a public involvement meeting to share details about proposed improvements to WIS 13 from Washington Avenue to Superior Avenue in the Bayfield County city of Washburn.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about the proposed project, review maps and other information and ask questions of project staff.

When: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22
- A short presentation is planned for 5:30 p.m.

Where: The Club, 3 W. Bayfield St., Washburn.
The existing pavement on WIS 13 is nearing the end of its service life. To address this and other issues, WisDOT is proposing to:
- Reconstruct WIS 13 from southwest of 2nd Avenue West to Superior Avenue with concrete pavement.
- Replace curb, gutter, sidewalk and storm sewer.
- Replace/upgrade all intersection curb ramps to meet Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The city also plans to replace the sanitary sewer, streetlights and water main.
During construction, WIS 13 will be closed, and traffic will be detoured.
Light-weight traffic will be detoured via Washington Avenue and Maki Road.
Heavy truck traffic will be detoured via County C (8th Avenue West) to WIS 13.
Hard-of-hearing, deaf, deaf-blind or those with a speech disability should contact the Wisconsin Telecommunication Relay Service via 711 at least three days before the meeting.
