Daytime closures under 11th/Heggen Street structure in Hudson set for Sept. 23-26
Release date: September 18, 2024
Motorists will encounter lane closures Monday through Thursday, Sept. 23-26 on east- and westbound I-94 under the bridge connecting Heggen and 11th streets in Hudson, so scheduled repairs can be made to the structure.
The left shoulders and far left lanes will be closed on:
-
Eastbound I-94: From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 7 a.m. to noon Thursday.
-
Westbound I-94: From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Some components on the bridge need repair. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation project will include:
- Removing the deteriorated concrete on the pier cap.
- Pier caps are horizontal structural members used for transferring bridge deck loads to the piers.
- Cleaning reinforcing steel.
- Forming and pouring concrete to regain the original dimensions of the cap.
- Applying a fiber-reinforced polymer wrap to strengthen and protect the cap.
- This work most likely will happen in spring 2025.
The work is weather and schedule dependent and subject to change.
