Closure necessary for replacing sewer and water utilities, placing new pavement

County C will be closed next week at its intersection with WIS 13 in the Bayfield County city of Washburn for because of sewer and water utility work under WIS 13 followed by concrete paving.
The closure will take effect at 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16 and is expected to be in place for four to six weeks
The work is part of a reconstruction project on WIS 13 from Thompson Creek to 2nd Avenue West in the Bayfield County city of Washburn. Construction, which began in early March, includes:
- Replacing the pavement on WIS 13.
- Replacing storm sewer, curb, gutter and sidewalk.
- Replacing or upgrading all intersection curb ramps to meet Americans With Disabilities Act standards.
- Replacing streetlights.
In addition, the city of Washburn has a concurrent project replacing aging sewer and water utilities.
Construction is scheduled for completion in early December.
