Governor Evers approves US 141 improvements in Brown County

Date: July 23, 2026

(Green Bay WI) - To invest in Wisconsin's transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $1.9 million contract to improve 2.6 miles of US 141 between County MM in the town of Ledgeview and Continental Drive in the village of Bellevue, Brown County. Work begins Monday, August 3, 2026, and is expected to finish in October 2026. There will be a short-term closure (about three-to-five days) of the US 141/Allouez Avenue roundabout. US 141 will remain open for all other work.

Northeast Asphalt of Greenville, Wis. is the Prime Contractor.

Project Overview

This is a resurfacing level project. Construction includes milling existing pavement and overlaying with asphaltic pavement on US 141, including the US 141/Allouez Avenue roundabout. Other work includes culvert repairs, beam guard replacements, curb ramp upgrades, splitter island and median nose repairs, and pavement marking.

Traffic Impacts

US 141 will remain OPEN (except for a three-to-five-day period at the roundabout) with lane closures and flagging operations during construction. Motorists may encounter brief delays during flagging operations.

  • During construction at the Allouez roundabout, brief closure/detour of the US 141/Allouez Avenue roundabout will occur (3 to 5 days)
    • The US 141 detour directs traffic to use County JJ, I-43, and County MM.

Anticipated benefits

Resurfacing will provide a smoother ride for motorists, extend the life of the pavement, and decrease future maintenance costs. Culvert repairs will help ensure proper drainage of water on the roadway. Guardrail upgrades will provide a higher level of safety should impact occur. Curb ramp upgrades will provide improved accessibility for those who rely on those accommodations.
