Built in 1949, the bridge needs maintenance. WisDOT is proposing to:

Replace the bridge joints and bearings

  • Paint the steel girders
  • Make backwall repairs
  • Install new approach slabs
  • Complete minor asphalt resurfacing
  • Make sidewalk, curb and gutter repairs

During construction, WIS 124 will be closed at the bridge, and traffic will be detoured via West River Street, US 53 and County S.

Construction currently is scheduled for 2030, but work could occur as early as 2029 if funding becomes available.
