The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is conducting a public involvement meeting to discuss proposed improvements on WIS 16 from Dike Road to WIS 71 in Sparta, Monroe County. Construction is anticipated for 2030.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Sparta City Hall, 201 W Oak Street, Sparta. The objective of this meeting is to discuss the plan to replace the pavement along WIS 16 from Dike Road to WIS 71 in the City of Sparta. As part of the project, three pedestrian crossing ramps at East Avenue will be replaced and maintenance repairs to the bridge over Milwaukee Street and Canadian Pacific Railroad are proposed. Additionally, a four-way stop is planned to be implemented at the East Avenue intersection to address safety.
