Release date: May 1, 2025

Construction resumed this week on an improvement project on WIS 105 from the Minnesota state line to WIS 35 in the Douglas County city of Superior.

The existing pavement is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the following is planned in 2025:

    • Removing 3.25 inches of asphalt pavement.
    • Overlaying the roadway with 3.25 inches new asphalt.
  • From the railroad crossing 200 feet west of Butler Avenue to WIS 35:
    • Removing 1.5 inches to 2.25 inches of existing asphalt on the driving lane and 2.25 inches of existing concrete pavement on the parking lane.
    • Overlaying the roadway with 2.5 inches of new asphalt on the driving lane edge and 2.25 inches of new asphalt on the parking lane.
    • Upgrading and modernizing select sidewalk curb ramp slopes.
    • Removing and replacing curb and gutter in the village of Oliver.
    • Removing and replacing guardrail at the Oliver Bridge and County W.
