The existing pavement on WIS 121 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this and other issues, WisDOT is proposing to:
- Mill the existing asphalt pavement and place new asphalt pavement
- Replace the box culvert at May Coulee Creek west of I-94
- Replace additional culverts
- Upgrade guardrail to current standards
- Place new pavement markings
- Upgrade existing sidewalk curb ramps to meet current Americans With Disabilities Act standards in Pigeon Falls
During most construction, WIS 121 will:
- Be closed during the replacement of the box culvert at May Coulee Creek, with through traffic detoured via US 53, US 10 and I-94.
- Remain open during remaining construction operations, but motorists will encounter daytime lane closures controlled by flagging.
Construction is currently scheduled for 2030 but could be advanced to 2028 if funding becomes available.
