Traffic impacts

Visit Wisconsin 511 travel information for the SW region.

Note - All traffic has been switched to northbound lanes. This will be in place until late June. (Apr. 12, 2012)

Traffic impacts will be similar to the recent projects on East Washington Ave., Blair St. - Thierer Rd.

  • Traffic is first switched to the outbound side while the inbound side is constructed.
  • Traffic will then be switched to the new inbound side while the outbound side is constructed.
  • Number of lanes in each direction is reduced to two during construction.
  • Some congestion is expected during the morning and afternoon peak traffic periods.
  • Reduction to one lane in each direction to only be allowed during non-peak traffic periods.

  • Access to East Washington Ave. from side roads at signalized intersections to be maintained except for necessary closures during paving operations.
  • However, Continental Ln. (north side only) and Zeier Rd. (north side only) to remain open to traffic at all times.
  • Access to East Washington Ave. from side roads at unsignalized intersections to be restricted for safety reasons.

All closures are dependent on favorable weather conditions. Please drive with caution through the work zone.
