WIS 59 (Greenfield Avenue)

Project overview

The WIS 59 (Greenfield Avenue) project in Milwaukee County involves reconstructing and resurfacing 1.5 miles of pavement from the 124th Street intersection to I-894.

The corridor will also be evaluated for potential intersection improvements, median modifications, and the potential to add bicycle lanes to the roadway.

Planning began in 2009 with construction estimated to begin in April 2012 and to be completed in November 2012.

As part of the project design, bicycle accommodations through the corridor will be investigated. Additional or improved sidewalk areas will also be identified. A safety analysis will be performed to identify potential safety improvement areas.

Project costs are projected at $4.5 million.
