WIS 15 expansion study - History

2010

October 28, 2010 - WIS 15 enumerated by the Transportation Projects Commission (TPC).

2007

June 2007 – WisDOT announces it has selected Alternative 3, bypassing Hortonville to the north.

February 28, 2007 - Formal public hearing for WIS 15 DEIS.

2006

December 2006 - DEIS approved by FHWA.

January 2006 - DEIS submitted to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for approvals.

2005

2005 - Data collection complete and impacts to environment are qualified.

Winter 2005 - Newsletter is published and public meeting conducted for project update.

2004

Fall 2004 - Agency approval of alternatives to be studied in Draft EIS (DEIS) is received.

Summer 2004 - Alternatives are modified and resubmitted to regulatory agencies. Data is collected for alternatives.

2003

Winter 2003 through 2004 - Data collected for each alternative is analyzed. Alternatives carried forward to study are presented to regulatory agencies.

Summer 2003 - Value Engineering Study is completed and additional alternatives are brought forward and shown in the August 2003 newsletter.

Spring through summer 2003 - The alternatives to be studied in the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) are presented. Information gathering begins to evaluate the cost and impacts of alternatives.

Spring 2003 - A public meeting is conducted.

2002

Winter 2002 through 2003 - WIS 15 alternatives are developed with cooperation of the advisory committee and presented to cooperating agencies.

August 2002 - A second WIS 15 corridor plan is completed from Greenville to US 41.

2001

February 2001 - The WIS 15 corridor plan is completed from New London to Greenville.
