Location

Project Overview

WisDOT is proposing to resurface I-894/I-41/I-43 through the Hale Interchange, from 84th Street to Lincoln Avenue. Project improvements also include:

  • Repairing several bridge structures throughout the Hale Interchange
  • Reapplying high friction surface treatment to interchange curves
  • Replacing guardrail
  • Replacing curb ramps to meet ADA standards
  • Signal upgrades at Oklahoma Avenue
  • and the lot reduction of the park & ride lot
  • Improving and downsizing the Hales Corner Park & Ride Lot based on use

Traffic Impacts

Resurfacing work will be completed overnight with only short-term lane closures and overnight ramp closures during construction. Local roads adjacent to the ramps being repaired may require lane closures but will remain open to traffic. The Hales Corners Park & Ride lot will remain open for partial use during construction, as well as the MCTS Route 55 stop located at the lot.

Schedule

Construction is scheduled to begin late spring/early summer of 2025.
