Location
WIS 173, WIS 80 Northbound in the town of Remington to Cranberry Creek Bridge in the town of Cranmoor, all in Wood County.
Overview
The roadway pavement and culvert pipes are experiencing deterioration. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing the following improvements:
- Resurface the roadway with asphalt
- Pave a 3-foot shoulder
- Replace failing cross culvert pipes between Hazelnut Trail and Cranberry Creek Bridge
- Replace guardrail
Traffic Impacts
For culvert replacements, WIS 173 will be closed to thru traffic and detoured via WIS 73.
For resurfacing, WIS 173 will remain open to a single lane of traffic controlled by flagging.
Real Estate
Some minor temporary limited easements will be needed for culvert replacements and grading. Real estate acquisition is expected to begin in September 2023.
